I must admit, I have no desire to drink anything with a rodent's name.
But, I have to highlight this cocktail -- I've tried it, and I am happy to report that it is quite yummy.
INGREDIENTS
¾ oz crème de noyaux
¾ oz crème de cacao
½ oz vodka
1 oz fresh cream
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour all over ice in mixing glass. Stir and serve in martini glass.

What a fun summer cocktail!
The recipe is compliments of the Mad Men cocktail guide.
INGREDIENTS
1¼ oz vodka
3 oz ginger beer
1 tsp sugar syrup
¼ oz lime juice
1 sprig mint
1 slice lime
INSTRUCTIONS
In a copper mug or cocktail glass, pour vodka over ice. Add sugar syrup and lime juice. Top with ginger beer and stir. Garnish with mint sprig and lime slice.

I have a thing for chocolate covered cherries, and nothing is better than chocolate for Valentine's Day.
So, I thought this recipe was perfect for a Valentine's Day Cocktail.
This cocktail was created by the Natalie Bovie-Nelson (The Liquid Muse), but I found it on the Liquor Snob's site last year.
I noted the recipe below, but you can find the original recipe here.
Ingredients -
1 part Pinky Vodka
1/2 part maraschino liqueur
3/4 ounce creme de cacao
1 tablespoon chocolate sauce
1 chocolate covered cherry
Directions -
Swirl chocolate sauce around the inside of a martini glass and set aside. Pour Pinky, maraschino liqueur, creme de cacao into a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake well and strain into chocolate swirled glass. Add a chocolate covered cherry, on a cocktail pick, for garnish.

I found this recipe when I was on the hunt for a fun cocktail for an Autumn-themed bridal shower.
Since the weather was getting a little cooler, we wanted something that was a festive representation of the season.
As life would have it, I found this cocktail on one of my favorite blogs, Hostess with the Mostess.
This martini has all of the makings of an apple martini. But the caramel and butterscotch keep it from tasting too tart. In fact, it is just right.

Tomorrow is our 4th annual slip and slide party. So today's happy hour drink is a neighborhood favorite!
This unconquerable mixture of iced tea and lemonade was a southern classic way before Arnold Palmer entered the world! But who cares – Calling it an Arnold Palmer makes it taste better!
Ingredients –
· Ice
· One-half (½) cup Lemonade
· One-half (½) cup of Iced Tea (my guys prefer sweetened Iced Tea)
Recipe –
· Place the ice in a tall glass.
· Fill the glass halfway with lemonade
· Top with the with iced tea
· Throw in a straw and a sprig of fresh mint and you are good to go!
Enjoy!
BTW: If the grown-ups prefer to have a little more kick in their Arnold Palmer, consider making a second batch for the adults and adding a little rum. Yum!

I found this recipe on the Fine Living Network web site and I couldn't resist. Why? It's made with ice cream!
According to the web site (and the cocktail creator, Stephen Phillips), the condensed milk in this cocktail makes it sort of like an ice-cream sundae – with cachaşca, a Brazilian liquor made from distilled sugar-cane juice, giving it a grown-up kick. Yum! Perfect for summer!
Ingredients
Two (2) cups of watermelon (seedless)
Six (6) strawberries chopped (freeze and chop in advance if possible)
Two (2) ounces of Cuca Fresca Cachaça
Two (2) ounces of condensed milk
1 tablespoon of superfine sugar
One and one-half (1½) cup of crushed ice
Sprig of fresh mint for garnish
Recipe
Mix all ingredients in a blender.
Add ice and blend until smooth.
Garnish with a mint sprig.
Enjoy!

I typically have a special cocktail (always made with ice cream) to commemorate my special day.
However, I decided to take a different approach to my birthday cocktail this year.
You see, all of us at Howerton+Wooten Events are in the throes of our 4th wedding season. Wow!
During this time, we have experienced aching backs and feet, a hotel power outage with the bridal party in the penthouse suite, and a cake delivery driver lost and stuck in traffic. Oy!
But we also had the privilege of meeting some incredibly talented and generous wedding planners. He have experienced special moments between moms and their daughters, savor the taste of a REALLY GOOD wedding cake, and the enjoy the satisfaction of seeing 12 months of hard work come together in a beautiful milestone event.
We feel so blessed.
We are extremely grateful for all of our experiences. So, instead of enjoying an ice cream cocktail this weekend, I prefer to give some love back to the wonderful people that support us in so many ways.

After spending a year listening to stories about wedding gowns, guest lists and the cost of a wedding cake, your dad probably deserves a cocktail. Here is one that I am sure he will enjoy.
Ingredients:
Two (2) ounces of gin
A dash of dry vermouth
One-half (½) ounce of olive juice
Olives
Preparation Steps:
Fill a shaker half full of ice.
Pour in gin and olive juice.
Stir for 20 seconds and strain into a cocktail glass coated with a few dashes of dry vermouth.
Garnish with olives.

Thinking of hosting a Sunday Farewell Brunch for your wedding party and out of town wedding guests?
Here are the recipes of five decadent menu items that are sure to complete a perfect wedding weekend!
Eggs Hussarde or Eggs Sardou. As a corporate planner, I planned more than my share of evening events in New Orleans. And every morning after one of my events, I always found myself at Brennan's Restaurant for breakfast. Brennan's is known for their Eggs Hussarde, but my heart belongs to Eggs Sardou. I could eat that dish every day if my heart and arteries would allow me.
Crème Brûlée Oatmeal. Everyone knows that oatmeal is one of the best meals (health wise) that you can have for breakfast. Since it is a “special” Sunday, you can make it a good breakfast item and a decadent dessert at the same time.
Belazu Lamb Meatballs. This is a nice alternative; well actually it’s an incredible alternative to your typical bacon or ham.
Buttermilk Fantails. These buttery rolls resemble a blooming flower, with each petal forming a perfect pull-apart bite.
Peach Bellini. Living in this hot weather requires a refreshing drink. You will definitely get that with this peach Bellini. I tried this last summer and I am here to tell you that this is so good going down (almost too good if you know what I mean!).

Smoked Salmon. I have a thing for smoked salmon. Actually, I have it really bad for smoked salmon. So it wouldn't be me if I didn't include a quick and easy recipe in this post. Enjoy!

Since I spent the better part of this week focusing on things that is all about you, I thought I would share my favorite cocktail for this week's Friday Happy Hour – The Perfect Lemon Drop Martini.
Ingredients
½ ounce of Triple Sec
1 teaspoon of Superfine Sugar
¾ ounce of Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
Instructions
Mix the Grey Goose Vodka, Triple Sec, Sugar and Lemon Juice in a cocktail shaker that is half-filled with ice cubes.
Shake well to make sure that the sugar is blended.
Pour strained liquor into a sugar-rimmed martini glass
Garnish with a twisted peel of lemon.
NOTE: To create a sugar-rimmed glass, take a lemon wedge and rub the drinking surface of the glass so it is barely moist. Dip the edge of the glass into sugar.
